On Saturday, July 1, we opened the doors to Apple Taipei 101, our new store in Taiwan.
Located in the iconic Taipei 101, our store is the new landmark in this shopping and commercial district. It is set to become the gathering place for locals who dream of taking their passions to the next level—to turn dreaming into doing.
Nearly 1800 customers gathered to join the opening, and many of those standing in line had queued up overnight.
To announce our arrival in Taiwan, we used a local dialect phrase '有閒來坐', meaning "come hang with us." It symbolizes Apple Taipei 101 being a community where everyone is welcome to come together to share and connect.
We teamed up with local Taiwanese artist, Yang Shih-yi, to create paper cutting artwork for our integrated marketing campaign for the opening. The artwork can be seen on the store's barricade, Video Wall, a special iMessage sticker set, and on outdoor advertising sites. Featuring a beautiful banyan tree-a meeting place for locals-the artwork reflects how the Apple ecosystem meets and fits in local traditional culture.
Our new store features a huge, curved, illuminated logo on the wall. It also houses a Boardroom for the local business community.
Following the grand opening, customers are finding inspiration at a series of Today at Apple sessions such as Field Trips and Photo Walks with our Creatives. Apple Taipei 101 has also seen overwhelming response for our upcoming sessions, including Camp, which were all booked a week in advance.
The team of 130 is a mix of new members and Apple employees from different markets and different parts of Apple. They are ready to inspire our customers by showing them that nothing is beyond their reach.
